Our CYP Autism service predominantly provides assessments of possible Autistic Spectrum Conditions but also, more uniquely, offers specialist advice and interventions to CYP with a diagnosis of ASC. The service is for Children and Young People in the South Staffordshire area up to the age of 19 and extends to the age of 25 if they have an EHCP.
An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to deliver specialist support across our Autism pathways and conduct robust Autism assessments.
This is an exciting, but also challenging, time to join us. Autism services across the country are facing unprecedented demand. In response, we are improving our service pathways and also pursuing our ambition to integrate our wider neurodevelopmental service offer and provide more seamless care to ensure efficient service delivery and an improved patient experience.
The post requires working a sites across South Staffordshire but hybrid working will also be a possibility.

Be competent and proficient in delivering the requirements of the role; working as part of the multi-disciplinary team with children and young people in the Children and Young People’s Autism Service.
Demonstrate at all times the Partnership Trust’s Values and Behaviour Framework.
Assessment and outcome of Autistic Spectrum Conditions
Be a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and have a detailed professional and clinical knowledge in the assessment and management of speech, language and communication needs of children and young people with ASC.
Be responsible for a defined population of service users.
Be skilled in the assessment of specialist speech, language and communication needs and in the development, implementation and evaluation of support/treatment packages .
Have training and leadership responsibilities where appropriate and have some responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements.
Demonstrate initiative and be creative in finding solutions to problems.
W ork with the team leader undertaking delegated tasks in team management

The post holder will be part of the children’s and families care group working in the Children and Young People’s Autism Service and may work in a variety of settings.
This is a dynamic post that requires the post holder to work closely with multi-disciplinary/agency teams in addressing a range of issues with children and young people who may/have ASC
