ST. MICHAEL’S HOUSE IS A COMMUNITY BASED VOLUNTARY ORGANISATION FOUNDED IN 1955 WHICH PROVIDES FACILITIES AND SERVICES TO OVER 1,700 PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE GREATER DUBLIN AREA. WITHIN ADULT SERVICES WE PROVIDE SERVICES IN THREE REGIONS: NORTH REGION (BALLYMUN); NORTH-EAST REGION (COOLOCK & BALDOYLE); SOUTHERN REGION (GOATSTOWN).
We are currently looking to recruit for the following post:
The successful candidate will join the existing adult services team of Speech and Language Therapists (SLT Manager in Charge iii, Clinical Specialist SLT, Senior SLTs, Basic Grade SLTs and SLT Assistant) in delivering quality Speech and Language Therapy Services to adults with intellectual disabilities.
Working in our department will give the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their Speech and Language Therapy clinical skills across a broad range of areas (see below examples) within a supportive SLT structure and an experienced multi-disciplinary environment (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Psychology, Social Work, Medicine, Nursing, Social Care).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy services to adults with intellectual disabilities, under the direction of the SLT Manager in Charge iii, and in close co-operation with multi-disciplinary clinical and frontline colleagues. The Senior SLT will work with SLT colleagues contributing to the Adult Services SLT strategy and workplan, influencing the direction of our service delivery.
The post will require some flexibility across the St. Michael’s House regions in response to service user needs. Supervision will be provided by SLT Manager in Charge iii.
