An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Speech Pathologist to join the Cabrini Speech Pathology team in this Grade 3 leadership position. We also strongly encourage senior Grade 2 clinicians who may be ready to move into a Grade 3 role in rehabilitation to apply for this position & we will work with the successful applicant to support this. The Grade 3 Speech Pathologist will work in our rehabilitation team across Outpatient Neurology, our Parkinson's disease program & neuro-oncology homecare service and management of the Cabrini home-based palliative care service. This role will also provide clinical support and guidance for staff working at Brighton in the inpatient rehabilitation caseload. Key responsibilities Provide specialist current clinical knowledge & skills in the area of rehabilitation. Ensures the provision of clinical services is responsive to the needs of Cabrini patients. Leads goal setting & team objectives for relevant clinical services, as a senior member of the Allied Health team. Maintenance of ongoing personal professional development/continuing education. Initiates, implements and evaluates research and encourages staff to participate in research and quality projects. About you Along with your passion for speech pathology, you will have experience working with patients with communication & swallowing deficits of neurological origin; and experience working with patients who present with Parkinson's disease. Experience working with palliative care patients is advantageous. Videofluoroscopy competency & LSVT certification is desirable. You will have: Membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Strong leadership skills to lead the speech pathology rehabilitation team, and an ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Well consolidated and broad post-graduate experience in a hospital setting, ideally with experience in an outpatient setting. Experience in the assessment and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders (including competency in videofluroscopy) for a range of aetiologies.
