Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

WeSupportU’s Senior Speech Pathologist provides high quality, person-centred therapy services to children, young people and adults living with disability in Bayside Peninsula Melbourne. The Senior Speech Pathologist sits within an experienced team of Allied health professionals encompassing speech pathology, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, counselling and therapy assistance. Within the role is the opportunity to have an ongoing relationship with your participants and the reward of seeing their situations improve as well as fostering and supporting the development of Speech Pathologists and students.
Full-time or Part-time considered.
Attendance at the office (Cheltenham and/or Frankston locations) is required however there is flexibility to work a hybrid model for the administrative components of the role.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and associated registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • A minimum three years of experience in Speech Pathology
  • An ability to effectively support, mentor and lead fellow speech pathologists
  • Preparedness to work outside normal working hours when required
  • Genuine interest and passion for working with people with a disability
  • A working knowledge of the NDIS, and experience in working with participants to achieve their goals in line with their NDIS plan
  • Ability to manage a caseload and complete timely case notes
  • A commitment to evidence-based assessment and intervention approaches
  • The ability to manage challenging situations
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training relevant to the position
  • Effective collaboration and multidisciplinary team membership to support interventions
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, client databases and the Internet
