ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our SQL databases and environments across the UK and Ireland. Your expertise will ensure the availability, security, and performance of critical business data, supporting our commitment to compliance and excellence. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will lead initiatives to improve processes, implement new solutions, and support business growth.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Manage and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure stability, security, and high performance.
  • Configure, install, and upgrade database systems, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents promptly.
  • Design and execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard business data.
  • Optimize database performance through tuning and capacity planning.
  • Develop, document, and enforce governance policies and best practices.
  • Support data security measures, including encryption and access controls.
  • Build and maintain automated processes to monitor SQL jobs and data loads.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
