The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparation of monthly financial reports for hotels within our portfolio and provide support to the Director and VP of Accounting with assignments outside of the monthly close process as requested. · Performs general close process for monthly financial reporting and other related duties for the accounting department. · Prepares (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and related reports. · Reconciles bank and balance sheet accounts monthly. · Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with company’s policies & procedures · Works closely with the General Manager and/or Accounting Controller of the properties to provide on-going support during and outside of the close process. · Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual or quarterly audits, as needed. · Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. · Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. · At least 2 years of accounting experience required. · Experience in hospitality or multi-unit real estate a plus. · Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting, hotel accounting knowledge preferred. · Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with property management team · Works well with minimal supervision. · Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (mid-level preferred) · M3 Accounting Core and ProfitSword experience a plus. · Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
