Description We are seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant with 3–5 years of accounting experience to join our growing regional banking organization. This role is ideal for a high-performing professional with strong technical accounting skills, regional banking experience, and the desire to take on increasing responsibility within a dynamic finance team. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, general ledger integrity, regulatory reporting support, internal controls, and special finance initiatives. Financial Reporting & Close Process Prepare and post journal entries and supporting schedules Own assigned areas of the monthly and quarterly close process Perform detailed account reconciliations (cash, loans, deposits, investments, accruals) Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger Support quarterly and annual financial statement preparation Analysis & Controls Perform variance analysis and explain fluctuations Identify process improvements and automation opportunities Assist with ad hoc analyses requested by senior leadership Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 3–5 years of experience in: Financial services or Regional/community banking accounting department Strong technical accounting understanding Advanced Excel skills Preferred Qualifications Direct experience in: Loan accounting Deposit accounting Investment securities accounting Call Report preparation Experience with banking core systems and general ledger platforms Familiarity with internal control frameworks The ideal candidate is: Ambitious and seeking long-term growth within a banking organization Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Proactive and identifies issues and proposes solutions Strong communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally Benefits 401K Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Health Savings Account Flexible Spending Account Employee Assistance Program Paid Time Off
