SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT – CONTRACT TO HIRE POTENTIAL

We’re looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis, with medium potential for a permanent role. Based near Plymouth, MN, this position while contract, pays $45.00 to $50.00/hour with an excellent benefits package and a salary range of approximately $85,000 - $95,000 upon conversion.
In this pivotal role, you’ll drive core accounting functions, primarily focusing on month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger account analysis, and financial reporting. You’ll also be instrumental in managing fixed assets and lease accounting, ensuring compliance and accurate financial statements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on fixed assets and/or lease accounting.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with keen attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA/CMA or advanced degree.
  • Experience in a complex, multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Play a primary role in financial closing cycles and report preparation.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposal.
  • Handle lease accounting in accordance with current standards, including asset and lease liability management.
  • Assist with treasury, intercompany, and expense reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate efforts with various accounting functions and contribute to process improvements.
  • Manage accounting and reporting for assigned international entities.
