JOB DESCRIPTION

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the accounting manager to handle a diverse range of tasks, including:

• Taking ownership of accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and general accounting duties.
• Recording banking transactions and preparing month-end bank reconciliations.
• Reviewing and analyzing customer payments, issuing credits as necessary.
• Proactively contacting delinquent customers to collect on past due invoices.
• Conducting credit checks on new customers and maintaining up-to-date credit files.
• Calculating and verifying landed cost breakdowns for inventory receipts.
• Assisting with company financial and inventory audits.
• Processing daily check deposits.
• Monitoring company expenses and negotiating discounts with vendors.
• Preparing and analyzing financial data and reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Assisting with the preparation of budgets and related financial reports.
• Interfacing with local and overseas suppliers to arrange payments and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborating with our Houston satellite location on accounting and inventory-related matters.
• Assisting outside CPA with audit and tax reporting.
• Assisting the accounting manager in preparing monthly financial statements.
• Supporting the accounting manager with any additional tasks as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with an accounting emphasis (required).
• A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a wholesale distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Fluent in English. Bilingual a big plus.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
• Experience with Oracle Netsuite is a plus.
