JOB DESCRIPTION
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the accounting manager to handle a diverse range of tasks, including:
- Taking ownership of accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and general accounting duties.
- Recording banking transactions and preparing month-end bank reconciliations.
- Reviewing and analyzing customer payments, issuing credits as necessary.
- Proactively contacting delinquent customers to collect on past due invoices.
- Conducting credit checks on new customers and maintaining up-to-date credit files.
- Calculating and verifying landed cost breakdowns for inventory receipts.
- Assisting with company financial and inventory audits.
- Processing daily check deposits.
- Monitoring company expenses and negotiating discounts with vendors.
- Preparing and analyzing financial data and reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Assisting with the preparation of budgets and related financial reports.
- Interfacing with local and overseas suppliers to arrange payments and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborating with our Houston satellite location on accounting and inventory-related matters.
- Assisting outside CPA with audit and tax reporting.
- Assisting the accounting manager in preparing monthly financial statements.
- Supporting the accounting manager with any additional tasks as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with an accounting emphasis (required).
- A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a wholesale distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Fluent in English. Bilingual a big plus.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
- Experience with Oracle Netsuite is a plus.
