Description Midwest Family Office On-Site Overland Park, KS The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for financial recordkeeping, bill pay, analysis, and reporting to ensure accurate tracking of client’s assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses, and tax obligations. This role serves as a key contributor to month-end closing, financial accuracy, compliance, process improvement and client onboarding. Requirements Essential Duties/Responsibilities to be performed with or without accommodation • Perform general ledger accounting, and financial analysis. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Review, reconcile, and analyze accounts, including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, AR/AP, intercompany transactions, and other financial accounts. • Monitor revenue and expense trends, prepare variance analyses, and provide insight to clients. • Oversee coding of invoices, new account setup, and account reconciliations; recommend process improvements. • Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with financial institutions. • Manage accounts receivable collections and oversee accounts payable processing. • Support external advisors by preparing schedules, documentation, and year-end financial data. • Collaborate with software vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain and enhance accounting systems. • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow monitoring. Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses required to perform essential functions • Associates degree or similar proficiency in accounting or related field required. • Experience in an accounting role preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities required to perform essential functions • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Positive, “can do” attitude • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. •.Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and/or Online preferred. • **Experience with SAGE accounting software preferred.** • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently. Work Environment and Physical Demands required to perform essential functions • Moderate noise typical of a business office. • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods. • Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers. • Close vision required for computer work and document review. Preferred Qualifications Experience in family office, financial services, wealth management, or investment management environment.
