Description ROLE OVERVIEW The Sr. Staff Accountant will play a critical role in strengthening the financial foundation of YCENA, ensuring disciplined execution, transparency, and governance across all accounting and financial operations. This role goes beyond traditional accounting assignments. The Sr. Staff Accountant will participate in building, enforcing, and sustaining a best-in-class financial control environment, addressing legacy gaps, and engaging in a culture of accountability and operational excellence aligned with our One Yanmar philosophy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Financial Governance & Control Enforce robust financial controls, policies, and compliance frameworks across YCENA Identify, escalate, and resolve legacy gaps in accounting practices, reserves, and reporting accuracy Ensure full compliance with US GAAP and Yanmar global standards Act as a guardian of financial integrity and transparency 2. Financial Reporting & Accuracy Own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial assignments including, but not limited to Month end close and global reporting requirements Cash activity and reconciliations Intercompany relationships Warranty reserves Sales/Use tax calculations and filings Prepare general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations with zero tolerance for unsupported balances Perform variance analysis with clear root cause identification and actionable insights (not just reporting) 3. Audit, Compliance & Risk Management Actively support all internal and external audits with a proactive, no-surprises approach Strengthen internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risk Ensure readiness and documentation standards meet audit expectations at all times Act as primary responsible for expense management system including all administrative functions and compliance monitoring 4. Continuous Improvement & Transformation Identify and implement process improvements Support ERP optimization (Epicor/YDS alignment where relevant) Drive standardization aligned with One Yanmar operating model Worksite: Grand Rapids, MN Position: Senior Staff Accountant Job Type: Full Time FLSA: Exempt Department: Finance Work Schedule: M-F Starting Wage: $75-90K This position offers the potential for discretionary bonus compensation up to 8% of base salary.
