Key Responsibilities As a Senior Accountant, you will take on more complex accounting tasks and have greater responsibilities, including: Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making. General Ledger Management: Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage more complex AP/AR transactions, including the review and approval of entries made by peers. Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with all internal controls and external regulations. Assist in preparing for and responding to audits. Tax Preparation: Coordinate with external tax advisors for the preparation of federal and state tax returns, including sales tax filings. Special Projects: Lead and participate in special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and financial analysis. Requirements Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, with two (2) years in a senior or supervisory role preferred. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with automated accounting and/or NetSuite systems is preferred. Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes to improve processes and outcomes. Professionalism: Strong ethical standards and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
