POSITION DESCRIPTION

ENSCO Inc is a diverse engineering and technology company that provides engineering, science and advanced technology solutions that guarantee mission success, safety, and security to governments and private industries worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Aerospace Engineer SME to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)/ Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) to provide support in cradle to grave efforts. Responsibilities include:

  • Support flight experiment mission and operations planning including:
  • Procedure development for all phases of the mission.
  • CONOPS development.
  • Launch and Early Operations (LEOps) plan
  • Operational testing via simulator (to include setup, configuration, and use of various virtual simulations and flatsats).
  • Ground system testing to include operations acceptance testing, factory compatibility tests, and launch-base compatibility tests.
  • Mission operations center planning to include facility planning, layout, and preparation.
  • Participation in events such as day in the life tests, exercises, rehearsals, and mission dress rehearsals as an operator, systems expert, or mission planner
  • Directly support flight operations, including:
  • Spacecraft on-orbit operations and experimentation including on- call support as required.
  • Operations acceptance testing to include regression testing of new operational components and processes.
  • Development of vehicle fault detection reporting systems.
  • Anomaly resolution support and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • 15+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, recognized as an defense industry SME.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive, proven experience in the integration of flight experiments, including system design, test planning, execution, and post-flight analysis.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace systems and the technical aspects of flight test operations, including hardware/software integration, telemetry, and mission-critical systems.
  • Experience in anomaly investigation and resolution, including root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions to ensure mission success.
  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry standards, regulations, and best practices, particularly those related to flight tests and system integration.
  • Expertise in systems engineering principles and practices, including requirements definition, validation, and verification.
  • AN ACTIVE DOD TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE with SCI ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.
