JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Staff Engineer plays a critical role in the design of RF ICs using pSemi’s UltraCMOS® technology, contributing to product lines such as high-performance RF switches, mixers, prescalers, PLLs, and RF receiver and transmit front-ends. This position supports the full product lifecycle—from definition and design through validation and release—while providing technical leadership and mentorship within the engineering team. The engineer works collaboratively with cross-functional groups including marketing, applications, and test engineering to ensure robust product performance and alignment with market needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS)

  • 8 - 12 years of experience in analog integrated circuit design and power management circuit design depending on level of education and experience
  • PMIC design – Advanced knowledge of Switching regulators, Charge Pumps, LDO regulators, Voltage and Current references
  • Experience in CMOS IC design for commercial applications - bulk and/or SOI processes
  • Proficient in RF IC design – RF switches, power amplifiers, mixers, PLLs, etc.
  • Proficient in Analog IC design – band-gap voltage references, low-drop out voltage regulators, operational amplifiers etc.
  • Knowledge of IC fabrication and how this impacts circuit performance.
  • Basic analog & RF IC layout skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • IC, package and PCB co-simulation using 2.5D or 3D EM tools.
  • Strength in documentation clarity and completeness
  • Ability to clearly assess and manage risk
  • Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule
  • Hands on use of RF measurement equipment to validate performance
  • Software tools: Cadence, ADS, HFSS, Momentum, Matlab, JMP, MS Project, Datapower, National Instruments CVI

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s or PhD preferred
