Job Description: Ninyo & Moore has an immediate opening for a Senior Staff Geotechnical Engineer for our Salt Lake City, Utah office to be responsible for the following duties: conducting geotechnical investigations and analysis, performing boring layout for utility clearance, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, logging boring, test pits, and cores, performing floor level surveys, performing testing and observation services, reviewing plans and specifications, and preparing geotechnical reports and letters. Additionally the Staff Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for assignments and compilation of laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations, including calculations pertaining to shallow and deep foundation design, pavement design, retaining walls, slope stability analysis, liquefaction, and settlement. Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering; MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. Required Skills: Candidate should have 0-5 years of experience with the above job duties and a thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. Candidate should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.
