Job Description Responsible for development of package components & packaging systems (design and testing) to ensure performance, quality, compatibility and regulatory compliance for product registration, transportation, storage, and use. Provide troubleshooting support to adjacent supply chain functions (procurement, manufacturing, quality, etc.), to ensure a safe user-friendly customer experience. Progress the filling and packing process definition in regional Crop Protection capital projects, including equipment evaluation, layout, and specification to increase manufacturing capacity, improve quality and/or reduce manufacturing costs. Provide advice for the creation and implementation of development programs and procedures within the packaging engineering area. Support a team of regional packaging engineers. Make recommendations supported by relevant data. Create and implement innovative and sustainable packaging solutions that maximize the competitive advantage and build brand preference. Support all Safety and Compliance requirements and serve as an expert on Syngenta’s packaging technologies. Must be in office at least 3 days per week. Qualifications This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years of experience as a Packaging Analyst, Packaging Development Assistant, or a closely related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience with: Dangerous Goods Packaging including transport regulations, certification, and compliance; data management systems including packaging specifications and technical documentation. Packaging Technology including materials, manufacturing processes, and barrier properties. Packaging Development including compliance, materials, design implementation, and project execution. Fill and Pack Technology including liquid and granular production equipment. Supporting audits led by a qualified quality auditor. Root cause analysis and identifying failures. Operational Excellence (OPEX) and Continuous Improvement (CI) including 5S, SIPOC, process mapping, and Six Sigma Tools. Project Management including leading cross-functional teams, managing resources, and delivering projects on time while maintaining quality standards and stakeholder alignment. Must pass a background check and drug test before beginning employment.
