We're looking for an experienced Senior Staff Software Development Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is for our San Jose, CA office and is hybrid. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering, you will be responsible for: Developing and integrating new software features with cloud solutions Designing and implementing robust software solutions while leveraging strong knowledge of Linux network stacks Collaborating with cross-functional teams create new solutions within the Zscaler eco systems Maintaining quality and innovate features to expand the capabilities of the system Leveraging strong software design principles to create reliable, scalable product improvements What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) 8+ years of experience with software engineering, specifically in Linux networking and protocol applications Expertise in Python with hands-on experience in Linux network commands and libraries Strong understanding of network protocols (e.g., HTTP, DHCP, DNS) and industry-standard tools for debugging and troubleshooting Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Experience working in cloud service organizations or companies specializing in networking solutions Proficiency in integrating complex systems across cloud environments #LI-Hybrid #LI-CM3 Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
