This position is ideal for an experienced engineer passionate about performance, architecture, and building impactful consumer technology. \n Accountabilities: As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Client Architecture, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for defining scalable client architecture strategies and delivering high-impact consumer experiences. You will partner with cross-functional teams to modernize content creation workflows, improve platform performance, and establish engineering standards across web and mobile environments. Define and execute the long-term client architecture strategy supporting advanced content creation experiences, including video creation, editing, uploading, and future contribution formats. Lead the modernization of shared posting and commenting experiences across web, iOS, and Android platforms. Design scalable client-side systems that improve performance, reliability, and user engagement throughout the contribution journey. Solve complex technical challenges involving rendering performance, media processing pipelines, offline and online synchronization, and highly interactive user experiences. Partner with product, design, and engineering leaders to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps and architectural decisions. Influence cross-platform engineering standards by establishing reusable patterns, frameworks, and best practices. Mentor engineers and serve as a technical authority, providing guidance on architecture, implementation approaches, and engineering excellence. Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate innovation, while maintaining strong technical judgment and ownership of final solutions. Drive alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders, balancing technical quality, scalability, business priorities, and delivery timelines. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a highly experienced software engineer with deep expertise in consumer-facing applications, client architecture, and large-scale technical leadership. You should have a proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges while influencing teams and driving strategic initiatives. 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated success as a Senior Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or equivalent technical leadership role. Extensive experience building consumer-facing web or mobile applications at significant scale. Deep expertise in modern web architecture, including React, TypeScript, advanced state management, and scalable frontend patterns. Strong understanding of native mobile development concepts, including iOS/Swift and Android/Kotlin ecosystems. Proven experience designing unified client architectures and establishing cross-platform engineering standards. Track record of solving complex client-side performance challenges, such as rich-text editing, media workflows, rendering optimization, or real-time synchronization. Ability to lead large, cross-functional engineering initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical leaders and explain complex concepts clearly. Experience making strategic tradeoffs between performance, reliability, scalability, and business impact.
