Lead practical initiatives, from proof of concept through to design reviews and urgent operational issues, promoting innovative solutions. Quickly adapt to a variety of technologies - whether legacy, SaaS, or emerging fields like GenAI - introducing contemporary engineering practices to different environments. Facilitate cross-team decisions using solid engineering principles, balancing technical priorities with delivery timelines. Work alongside product owners to help shape and prioritise technical roadmaps, aligning senior stakeholders around important trade-offs. Provide expert guidance in architecture and solution design, tackling complex challenges in areas like performance, security, and business impact. Demonstrate commercial acumen across teams, balancing cost with value to deliver effective results; experienced in engaging a broad range of stakeholders. Drive the organisation’s testing strategy, using metrics to spot areas for improvement, customising frameworks for large multi-team projects, and extending Telstra’s testing capabilities. Maintain up-to-date expertise in platform engineering and emerging technologies, actively mentoring and coaching peers. Ensure production-ready code that robustly handles errors and edge cases, systematically debugging across related systems. About you It’s an essential requirement you are currently based in Bengaluru, for in-person connects with your colleagues. Due to the seniority of this role, please only apply if you’re based in Bangalore 15+ years’ experience in Software Engineering and DevOps, with deep proficiency in Java, Python, additional programming languages, and front-end technologies—strong understanding of full stack interactions. Skilled with API frameworks, microservices, and Spring Boot. Experienced in deployment, automation, and configuration management tools. Hands-on background in capability development, cloud-native solutions, code reviews, and secure coding standards. Demonstrated track record in agile delivery and leadership, with a focus on coaching and strategic alignment. Proven experience contributing to projects within agile teams. Excellent leadership skills, with a focus on mentoring, decisive decision-making, and the ability to align vision and strategy.
