Job Title: Senior Strategic Gifts Officer
Reports to: Director of Strategic Gifts
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Hours: Monday – Friday (40 hours), occasional weekends/after-hour events
Location: Hybrid, Foodbank Sharehouse (82 Coromar Dr. Goleta, CA 93117)
Salary Range: $80,000 – $115,000 annually, commensurate with experience

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, business, or a related field.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising or business development, with a strong focus on high-level relationship management.
  • Proven record securing five- and six-figure gifts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the full life cycle of major donor engagement, from discovery and cultivation to solicitation, acknowledgement, and ongoing stewardship.
  • Skilled in creating tailored donor strategies and written proposals that inspire transformational giving.
  • Experience working with donor databases (CRM systems) to track progress, generate reports, and support strategic decisions.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Exceptional relationship –building and interpersonal skills, with a high level of emotional intelligence and professionalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence in public speaking and making presentations.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 20%) and work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to engage cross-functionally and work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of fundraising profession and best practices with demonstrated track-record of meeting financial goals
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite software and familiarity with Constituent Relationship Management software
