  • VPS Grade 6: $138,631 - $185,518 per annum plus superannuation.
    The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Policy Advisor to provide a critical role within Technology Solutions and Data Security.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Appropriate vocation qualifications and certifications, e.g. Project Management, Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service Management or Change Management, are highly desirable.
  • Law Degree. Admitted, or eligible to be admitted, to practise as a legal practitioner in Victoria would be desirable.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Strategic Policy Advisor will be assigned to a large transformation program working closely with diverse teams to mitigate legal compliance risks, influence strategic decision making and support the delivery of a fit-for-purpose and future proof technology. A deep understanding of the legal frameworks, regulatory changes and government reform will help shape the program through to implementation.
The Senior Strategic Policy Advisor will also be required to engage with stakeholder Policy, Strategy and Legal teams and other government stakeholders and the outputs informing the overall enterprise product design and strategic platform.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience working on large projects with senior project staff and stakeholders, providing legislative policy advice in alignment with current and emerging legislation, regulation and government priorities.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of Business Analysis practices and have strong ability to translate complex legislative obligations and policy frameworks into system requirements.
  • Significant, up-to-date knowledge and understanding of strategic relationship management and advisory best practices, as well as knowledge of new or emerging approaches and their potential value to the organisation.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in management consulting and/or a similar advisory role to Senior Executive stakeholders is preferred.
  • Provides strong leadership and support to staff, peers and management that includes functions such as recruitment and staff performance development
