JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing scrap materials for our remelt operations in support of our North American scrap strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the commercial execution of the scrap strategy for the North American region in partnership with operations, procurement, sales, C-TEC, public affairs, finance and strategy teams, with the objective to improve our overall metal costs and to achieve our sustainability targets. A key aspect of this role is to collaborate with Sales and Technical groups to determine the availability of alloys and volumes of scrap from industrial and commercial accounts as well from new streams. Additionally, the buyer will assess the feasibility of Constellium purchasing this material directly or through a third party. This role requires a keen understanding of market trends, strong negotiation and project management skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities
  • Sourcing Scrap Materials: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of industrial scrap materials.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure a steady supply of scrap materials.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that purchased scrap materials meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, market conditions, and supplier performance.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain management or a related field,
  • 5 -10 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of metal market, recycling, and finance
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a history of influencing outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, critical thinking and team building experience
  • Shown project management knowledge and skills
