About the role AGL’s Energy Markets & Development team have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Strategy Analyst. Based in Melbourne or Sydney, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the strategy for AGL’s Energy Hubs across Australia. The role operates at the intersection of strategy, commercial analysis and execution, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. At AGL, we’re reimagining the future of energy. Our Energy Hubs strategy is a cornerstone of that journey. Transforming legacy thermal generation sites into integrated industrial energy hubs that support new industries, partnerships and sustainable growth across Australia. What you will do: Lead the development of hub specific strategies and development plans aligned to AGL’s Energy Hubs vision. Build, maintain and analyse financial models to assess investment opportunities, partnerships and commercial proposals Develop robust business cases and recommendations for senior leaders, executives, the Board and external funding partners Support negotiations by contributing to core commercial terms, underpinned by financial analysis and risk assessment Undertake market, industry and technology analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential partners Prepare high‑quality papers, proposals and briefings for senior audiences, clearly articulating risks, opportunities and strategic alignment What you will bring: A relevant tertiary qualification (for example, commerce, engineering, law or a related discipline); postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded Experience in a strategic, analytical or commercial role within energy, infrastructure, resources, manufacturing or consulting Financial modelling capability and commercial acumen, with experience developing business cases (desirable) Developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders Strategic and collaborative approach to problem solving and the ability to operate effectively in complex, evolving environments Experience or exposure to government funding processes, planning approvals, or technology and partnership evaluation (desirable) Applications close 15 April.
