Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Philadelphia Design Center located in Ridley Park, PA.
The Philadelphia Design Center is focused on analyzing and supporting a wide range of Boeing products across the globe; including Vertical Lift Programs, Commercial Aircraft, Fixed Wing Fighters, Satellites, Space Launch Systems, and many others. Position Details: As a structures analysis engineer, you will have the opportunity to support a variety of Boeing Products conducting calculations to validate structural designs using a mixture of classical methods and finite element analysis.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. (Senior-Level 4 - Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years’ experience or Master’s and 7+ years)
  • 5+ years of experience with finite element analysis software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):

  • Strong communication skills to interface with different program and customer teams
  • Experience working in a cross functional team environment and lead across engineering / non-engineering disciplines

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required

Responsibilities
  • Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment, characteristics, and performance
  • Develops and uses Finite Element Models
  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the analysis effort
  • Ability to support occasional domestic travel to support our customers
