  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in solar racking systems or renewable energy infrastructure is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
  • Lead structural design efforts for steel-based solar racking systems, carports, and custom structural solutions.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technologists to deliver high-quality engineering designs.
  • Ensure all structural engineering activities meet applicable U.S. and Canadian codes, including ASCE, IBC, AISC, OBC, and NBC.
  • Perform complex structural analysis and environmental loading calculations using appropriate regional codes.
  • Lead interdisciplinary coordination and provide structural input across design, development, construction, and QA/QC.
  • Oversee the creation and review of structural drawings, specifications, and calculation packages.
  • Develop engineering tools to automate calculations and improve design workflows.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and other drafting tools for rooftop, ground-mount, and carport layouts.
  • Interpret wind tunnel study data to calculate ballast requirements for flat-roof PV systems.
  • Collaborate with PRI Engineering and other internal teams to support solar and non-solar structural design inquiries.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality oversight throughout the construction phase.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for structural inquiries across cross-functional departments (sales, logistics, operations, finance).
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across engineering design and processes.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of an offshore structural engineering team.
  • Support business development, including proposal preparation and technical presentations.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking and documentation using tools like ProWorkFlow and MS Project.
