DESCRIPTION

Our Structural Design team develop innovative designs, from concept level through to detailed design, and from small studies to large scale multi-discipline EPC projects. This typically involves developing 3D models, producing drawings, and occasional surveys when required.
Apollo is currently recruiting for a Principal Structural Designer to join our team in our central Aberdeen offices, helping to drive the team on a varied and interesting projects. A key part of the role is adding your valued design experience to the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• HND in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or academic equivalent.
• Proficient in the use of Autodesk suite (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor) with recent project experience. Beneficial to have experience with Aveva suite (e.g. PDMS or E3D).
• Have sound practical experience of offshore structural steel design and a detailed understanding of site construction.
• Proficient in producing and checking design drawing suitable for fabrication.
• Good understanding of structural connection details.
• Current Offshore Survival and medical preferred.

• Assist with leading Apollo’s designers using technical expertise and experience in managing draughting projects.
• Help prepare and deliver a range of engineering drawings and associated documents, compliant with all applicable standards in conjunction with the engineering team.
• Innovate in design work, minimising cost whilst maintaining technical integrity
• Participation in internal and external design reviews.
• Performing their day to day duties to the best of their ability and in compliance with Apollo’s HSEQ processes and procedures.
• Work within a multi-disciplined engineering team, including engineers and designers of all experience levels.
• Ensure timely delivery of all structural designs.
• Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
• Maintain good communication with colleagues in all Apollo offices.
• Manage workload and report project progress.
