Description
Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer What’s the mahi? The choices we make today shape communities, industries, and futures. And one of the first choices is - who do you choose to work for? How will you shape what’s next? We are growing our Wellington structures team and need an experienced structural engineer to lead design delivery across complex new build, seismic assessment and seismic upgrade projects. This role sits within a technically strong buildings team delivering across our local and national project portfolio. You’ll balance complex multi-disciplinary design delivery with leadership, stakeholder engagement and client management. What you’ll do: Lead and deliver detailed design for wide ranging building typologies – we design buildings from town houses to multi-storey apartments and hospitals to industrial facilities. Deliver seismic assessments and upgrades across the spectrum of building typologies – from Wellington office towers to low rise school buildings. Interface with your clients, councils, project stakeholders and external project partners to deliver integrated solutions with full collaboration. Support construction-phase queries and design clarifications. Lead delivery quality and technical development of junior engineers within the context of your project teams. Bring analytical rigour and sound engineering judgement to complex projects. What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (or similar). Ideally chartered, or working confidently toward chartership. 5+ years’ experience in structural engineering within a consultancy environment. Strong technical capability someone who can get things done proactively and deliver quality work with minimal oversight. Excellent communicator: able to translate technical concepts clearly for clients, partners, and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to build relationships and deliver positive client experiences. Curious, analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex problems. Ready to bring ideas to life? You really can bring your whole self to work and be confident that your voice will be heard. We don't just claim that we're inclusive and innovative, it's proven by the independent awards and accreditations we have gained, and we're always seeking new ways to prove (and improve!) our commitment to diversity. We’re committed to a fair, inclusive recruitment process. If you need adjustments or support to make it more accessible, please let us know.
