Job Description We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our national building engineering team. In this role, you will support the design and delivery of structural engineering projects across sectors such as aviation, sport, culture & entertainment, education, healthcare, and transport infrastructure. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and help uphold AECOM’s reputation for technical excellence and innovation. Whilst our preference is Melbourne, this role can also be based in Adelaide, Sydney or Brisbane. Lead and oversee structural design and project delivery, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, Building Codes of Australia (BCA), and client requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, sustainable structural solutions. Perform structural analysis, prepare design reports, and oversee engineering documentation and drawings. Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and client/stakeholder engagement to ensure successful outcomes. Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence through best practices and industry innovation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering (essential). Ideally, at least 5 years’ professional experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on building structures for a consultancy (or extensive design experience for a contractor / government department). Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, including SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT, and Structural Toolkit (essential). Experience with SAP2000, RAM, Ideastatica, and Grasshopper (advantageous). Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Please note, due to the nature of the projects Australian Citizenship is preferred, with previous or current defence clearance highly regarded.
