Description
IMEG is hiring a Senior Engineer in Dallas, TX, to lead structural design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects. You’ll work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients—supporting positive outcomes through project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structural systems in buildings and other structures. You’ll also support budget accountability, mentoring/training efforts, and cross-functional collaboration, with an area of focus in Water/Wastewater. Principal Responsibilities Lead design efforts for the analysis of structural systems Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships through professional communication Provide in-process design reviews of structural system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence; implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements Provide technical training and mentoring; provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with limited support from senior staff Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals Participate in project interviews and project presentations Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required Master’s Degree (MS) in Structural Engineering preferred Professional Engineer (PE) License required 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and structures Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise Ability to sell work and develop client relationships Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate effective team building skills Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Eagerness to adapt to new challenges Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
