Senior Structural Engineer

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering
• Active P.Eng. status in Alberta
• 15-20 years of design experience in EPC or Consulting industry is preferred
• Be familiar with structural analysis software SFrame / STAAD
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications
• Good understanding of applicable industry codes and standard practices
• Experience with site grading and roadway design is an asset for this position
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to establish and maintain positive client and project team relationships
• Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines

• A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. A copy of a valid work permit may be required.

• Periodic travel within Canada to client sites and regional Tetra Tech offices will be required

• Work with lead engineers to scope out projects, establish project objectives
• Coordinate work with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical etc.
• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and industry standards, engineering formulas, and experience
• Produce sketches to be incorporated in models/drawings by Designers/Drafters
• Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents
• Provide construction support including review shop drawings, respond to RFIs etc.
• Develop construction cost estimates for projects within the department
• May serve as Project Engineer and as a designated Client contact on smaller, less complex projects
• Develop engineering estimates and assist with proposal development
• Manage discipline schedules and deliverables
