Purpose The Structural Mooring Engineer purpose is to design, analyze, and optimize safe, reliable, and cost-effective steel structures that support mooring systems related to SBM Offshore’s activities —FPSOs, Turret mooring systems, Offshore terminals, Installation, Asset management, Floating Offshore Wind and carbon capture module. Responsibilities You lead the advanced structural assessment and design of mooring systems supporting structures applying finite‑element analysis to ensure robust performance and long‑term structural integrity under complex loading and extreme environmental conditions such as waves, wind, and corrosive environments. You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations. You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget, as well as for ensuring system interfaces. You ensure that your Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements. You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries. You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements. You may be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the Package. You start leading engineers on assigned scope of work You may act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work. Education Engineer Diploma in structural engineering or mechanical engineering.
