KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Typically requires a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Approximately 4+ year’s relevant experience. Experience is typically in applying tools and methods (e.g. Nastran/Patran, Airbus methods, etc) and understanding different methods and their application in various analysis. In addition experience of working in an office environment and using general business IT packages (e.g. Word, Excel, etc)
  • Additional relevant knowledge, experience and product knowledge could offset the normal qualification requirements
Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

To assist the Structures Team Leader in the day to day running of the Stress Team, performs analysis and calculations and helps/guides junior team members in their daily duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs both simple and complex structural analysis tasks (static, F&DT, FEA, etc) to prescribed methods using provided toolset.
  • Works with minimum guidance from more senior engineers.
  • Identifies appropriate methods to be used for particular analysis tasks.
  • Checks work (calculations, disposition of concessions, FEMs, etc) of junior team members to ensure that correct results are presented.
  • Identifies and implements areas of process improvement within the Structural Analysis discipline.
  • Works closely with other discipline engineers to achieve common Programme goals.
  • Produces and checks reports prior to approval by more senior engineers.
  • Directs and coaches more junior Structural Analysis engineers.
  • Leads simple trade studies and delivers outputs to appropriate Quality and timescale
