DESCRIPTION

A Senior Stud Hand is required for a Stud farm in Seymour.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Handling mares, foals and weanlings, yearlings and spelling racehorses.
• Assisting vets, farriers and other industry professionals as required.
• Conducting feed runs & cleaning barns.
• Administering treatments and basic wound care.
• Assisting with the foal handling and weaning.
• Transporting Mares and Foals to cover & Breakers to trainers.

Experience essential, further training can be provided for the right candidate.

Essential skills:

• Current Australian driver’s licence.
• High level of horse husbandry skills and experience.
• Prior experience in general horse care and stud farm duties.
• Ability to work independently and also be willing to mentor and train junior/seasonal staff members.
• Enthusiasm to broaden your skills.
