As the Senior Student and Academic Administration Officer, you will provide operational leadership across a broad portfolio of student and academic administration functions. Working closely with academic and professional colleagues, you will ensure high-quality, responsive services for students and staff, while maintaining compliance with University policies and procedures. This is a diverse and rewarding role, combining hands-on administration with problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement of systems and processes. You will be a trusted source of advice, a key contributor to student engagement initiatives, and a central point of coordination for academic administration activities. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: In consultation with the School Manager, mentor and guide staff to ensure high-quality service delivery, capability development, and compliance with University policies and procedures. Coordinate teaching timetabling, enrolments, academic administration, and key student processes, ensuring accuracy and effective system management. Lead and support student communications and engagement activities, including major events and outreach initiatives, to deliver positive student experiences. Provide expert advice on University policies, program rules, and student matters, supporting consistent decision-making and compliance. Contribute to continuous improvement, reporting, committee support, and quality assurance across student and academic administration functions. A sound understanding of administrative processes relevant to student and academic administration. Demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in written work. Strong problem solving skills, demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and judgment and to work independently and autonomously. High level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate effective outcomes and to handle sensitive and confidential matters. The ability to work collaboratively and effectively within the team and across other organisational units. A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service. Empathy with and ability to communicate with students, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of University administrative systems, policies and procedures or the capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge. Experience in a tertiary education institution or other large organisation in an area related to student and academic administration would be highly regarded.
