OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS Senior Student Development Manager (25260433) The Office of Student Affairs invites applications for the post of Senior Student Development Manager of the Leadership Qualities Centre (LQC). In line with the mission of the University to provide a higher education that develops and sustains the integrity of the whole person, and its values of strong commitment to both academic excellence and community service, LQC aims to empower HKBU students to become committed global and local citizens, assume active roles to face and resolve global challenges and to become proactive contributors in local community. The team focuses on five areas, namely Campus Integration, Citizenship & Community Engagement, Cultural Literacy, Global Exposure and Leadership Development. We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, student-centered and highly motivated individual that plays a crucial role in creating a vibrant and supportive environment for our students. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the provision of Co-curricular Learning activities (CCL) to ensure the full adoption of Outcome-based teaching and learning approach (OBTL) and their assurance; Oversee the implementation of student development programmes including national security education and adventure education to enrich students’ global awareness, community engagement, leadership skills, citizenship, resilience and servicing mindsets; Develop new initiatives through exploring different collaboration opportunities with service partners, both local and overseas; Oversee the data preparation and documentation for Student Learning Experience System (SLES) and other relevant university systems; Administer and manage both new and existing funding sources by preparing work plans and reports; and Provide high-level administrative support including staff supervision, preparation of committee papers and reports, and serving university-wide committees etc. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree with at least 8 year’s relevant work experience in student affairs services, preferably in the tertiary education field; Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and organisational skills; excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; Willingness to shoulder responsibilities and take up challenges; Sound computer knowledge, mature personality and ability to work independently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines are required; and Preference will be given to candidates who have a strong passion for working with students. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
