OVERVIEW

Protecting our policyholders’ dreams, passions, and livelihoods has a direct impact on the communities we serve. We work towards excellence, conduct ourselves with high integrity, and take our work seriously, but not ourselves. Small Details. Big Difference. Find out how you can make a difference with a career at Society.
Are you a detail-driven insurance professional with a passion for recovering claims dollars and navigating complex liability scenarios? We’re looking for a Senior Subrogation Specialist to join our Commercial Lines team and take the lead on high-exposure subrogation efforts. In this role, you’ll be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and resolving subrogation opportunities across various commercial lines — including work comp, auto, property, and general liability. You’ll handle negotiations, collaborate with claims and legal teams, and work closely with external partners to maximize recoveries while maintaining strong relationships. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys investigative work, and brings strong communication and analytical skills to the table.

About the Role

  • Resolves subrogation claims by conducting investigations and comparing claim information with evidence to determine if subrogation potential exists.
  • Assists with training programs for the Claims staff regarding subrogation identification and investigations.
  • Helps identify qualified subrogation experts, vendors, and legal counsel as claims dictate with a clear focus on expense management.
  • Represents Society Insurance while working with internal and external customers – to include agents, attorneys, and various vendors and organizations.
  • Participates in close-file audits with outside vendors in identifying subrogation potential. Assists with reviewing closed subrogation files to ensure department subrogation guidelines are being met.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by participating in training activities; professional trade organizations(s) that contribute to the interest of the company and industry; and stays current in the law and development of appropriate states.
  • Ensures proper file documentation and is compliant with company and state regulations.

About You

  • You take responsibility for your performance and accepts ownership.
  • You are analytical and take a deliberative decision-making approach.
  • You are comfortable analyzing, investigating, and using facts to make decisions.
  • You enjoy communicating and building relationships with others.
  • You are naturally curious and enjoy investigative work.
  • You are composed, resilient, and enjoy negotiating to achieve a win-win scenario.
