Description

Position Summary The Senior Subsea Engineer will act as a dedicated technical authority within the Drilling Team, responsible for planning, execution, and management of subsea development activities for offshore drilling projects, with particular focus on deepwater subsea well construction and operations. The role supports delivery of drilling and subsea development programs through engineering studies, equipment management, subsea production systems (SPS) coordination, well completion planning, offshore execution readiness, and operational assurance. The incumbent will ensure safe, efficient, and technically robust execution while coordinating cross-functional teams, contractors, service providers, and offshore personnel. Key Responsibilities 1. Subsea Development Planning & Engineering Provide internal technical expertise and leadership in planning and execution of subsea development activities. Develop engineering programs and execution strategies for offshore drilling and subsea well operations. Prepare drilling, completion, intervention, and testing procedures for subsea wells. Support concept selection, feasibility studies, and engineering evaluations. Ensure technical readiness and integration between drilling and subsea development scopes. 2. Offshore Development Program Support Support management and planning of drilling development programs for offshore assets. Coordinate engineering studies and technical deliverables supporting field development. Manage interfaces between drilling teams, subsea engineering, and external contractors. Support schedule development, risk identification, and operational readiness activities. 3. Subsea Equipment & SPS Management Manage specification, procurement, preparation, mobilization, and commissioning of: Subsea Production Systems (SPS) Horizontal Christmas Trees IWOCS (Intervention Workover Control Systems) Landing strings Wellheads Completion systems Oversee SPS contractor performance and ensure alignment with project requirements. Coordinate material requisition, equipment tracking, preservation, and logistics. 4. Drilling & Well Operations Support Develop and review: Drilling programs Completion programs Well testing procedures Operational contingency plans Support offshore execution during drilling, completion, and intervention campaigns. Ensure operational efficiency and minimize non-productive time (NPT). 5. Vessel & MODU Readiness Coordinate vessel and MODU modifications for subsea operation readiness. Ensure SPS handling procedures are implemented onboard vessels and MODU. Support marine spread planning and offshore mobilization activities. Verify offshore equipment installation and operational compliance. 6. Quality Assurance & Operational Governance Lead QA/QC activities related to subsea equipment receiving and offshore readiness. Review contractor deliverables and ensure compliance with engineering standards. Conduct risk assessments and support HAZID / HAZOP processes. Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements and regulatory obligations. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in: Mechanical Engineering Petroleum Engineering Offshore Engineering Marine Engineering Other relevant engineering disciplines Drilling or subsea-related certifications preferred.
