ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Materials Engineering
  • Extensive experience in structural analysis and project engineering
  • Strong foundation in mechanics, fatigue analysis, and thermodynamics
  • Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with offshore pipeline or flexible pipe systems
  • Understanding of industry standards (API, DNV)
  • Proficiency with programming (Python, VBA)
  • Fluent in Danish

ABOUT THE ROLE

At NOV Subsea Production Systems (SPS) in Brøndby, Copenhagen, Denmark, we are looking for a Senior Subsea Flexible Pipe Design Engineer to join our Pipe System Design department. In this role, you will play a key part in developing our core product—flexible pipe cross-sections—ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and optimal design for diverse offshore environments. Your work will directly impact global energy infrastructure and support our commitment to delivering excellence.
You will join one of three international teams, contributing to projects that demand analytical rigor, multidisciplinary collaboration, and creative solutions. Your energy will help us power the industries that power the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze flexible pipe cross-sections, ensuring technical feasibility and structural integrity
  • Perform local and global analyses under extreme environmental and operational conditions using in-house and commercial tools
  • Evaluate fatigue life, failure modes, and installation scenarios to ensure safe, long-term performance
  • Collaborate across departments including sales, project management, manufacturing, and verification bodies
  • Document technical findings and support production processes, including non-conformity assessments
  • Interface with customers, installation contractors, and external stakeholders
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring compliance with API 17J and RP 17B standards
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and innovation initiatives within the tea
