Job Title: Senior Superintendent Company: Carter Hill Homes, LLC Department: Operations Reports to: President Job Type: Regular Full-Time Work Hours: Monday - Friday Effective Date: February 2026 Exemption Status: Exempt Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 Profit Sharing: Available based on yearly business results Benefits: • Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance • Life/Accidental Death & Short-Term Disability Insurance • Paid Time Off (PTO) • 401(k) Investment with 6% company match Role Summary: A Senior Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a construction project from planning to completion and through the warranty period. They manage day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. A Senior Superintendent is also charged from time to time with mentoring other junior Superintendents and Project Engineers in the Company. Supervises: Project Trade Partners and Consultants Supervisory Responsibilities: · Oversees and coordinates project construction from start to finish and through the warranty period · Manages and holds trades accountable for vertical construction activities while maintaining positive long-term relationships · Works closely with the Construction Project Engineer, Architects, and Engineers to coordinate/facilitate solutions and responses for/to: o Requests for Information (RFI’s) o Supplemental Architectural Instructions (ASI’s) o Change Orders o Submittal Requests o Pricing Impact Analysis resulting from ASI’s and or RFI’s or other Owner-Directed Changes o Upgrades and Options · Coordinates all RFI’s, Architectural Supplemental Instructions (ASI’s), and contract-related notifications to trade partners · Helps train Owner’s Facility Maintenance Staff and facilitates building turnover at completion · Manages punch list process to close out each unit’s completion to start the warranty period · Mentors other junior Superintendents and Project Engineers Essential Functions: · Coordinates pre-construction planning and permitting · Supports bidding, negotiating, and buy-out contracting processes · Meets overall project timeline schedules and budgets · Creates daily logs related to construction activities, including reporting the number of trades and personnel onsite and any conditions (i.e., weather, 3rd party delays, etc.) that affect production · Prepares timely reports of schedule progress for project team members and senior management · Provides clear and concise communication of projects, including trade issues, scheduling conflicts, and budgetary constraints, to the Market President · Hosts regular trade partner and trade contractor meetings · Maintains software scheduling daily and updates as required · Performs other related duties as assigned · Mentors other Construction Superintendents and construction team Project Engineers Minimum Required Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred) Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role 3-5 years of experience in construction management Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors Experience in project management software, such as BuilderTrend Strong Communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently Strong Work Ethic, Ability to work independently, and must bring enthusiasm every day Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Preferred Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred) Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role Strong supervisory and leadership skills Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Work Environment/Physical Requirements: Work Environment: · Interpersonal Relationships: High level of social contact, working with owners, contractors, and design professionals; Responsible for work outcomes and safety · Physical Work Conditions: Split time between office and construction sites. Exposure to noise, weather extremes, and hazardous equipment is common. Could involve prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. · Work Performance: Requires accuracy in maintaining schedules and budgets. Involves decision-making under time pressure Physical Demands: Activity Levels: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional climbing or bending Sensory Abilities: Need to see details up close and at a distance, understand speech, and speak clearly Environmental Exposure: Exposure to fumes, particles, and loud noise levels. Often work outdoors in varying weather conditions Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally exert up to 80 pounds of minimal force to carry, lift, push, pull, and otherwise move objects.
