We are currently seeking a performance-driven, motivated Senior - Supervising Commissioning Engineer or Agent. This role will be based out of Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To succeed in this role, your experience would include commissioning large Mechanical systems for industrial, datacenter, commercial, operations center, high-rise and healthcare type facilities. Your technical strengths must be complemented by self-motivation, relationship building skills, and effective communication skills.

Commissioning Engineer requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or required years of experience, including commissioning large Mechanical systems for industrial, datacenter, commercial, operations center, high-rise and healthcare type facilities.
  • A minimum of 5 years field experience in hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting of large Electrical systems
  • 8 to 12+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field
  • Possesses basic understanding of proper system selection
  • Exhibits basic understanding of the practical application of LEED principals to building Commissioning.
  • Exhibits thorough understanding of applicable codes
  • Experience with ASHRAE, BCxA, and/or PECI Cx and RETRO-Cx procedures and protocols, a plus
  • PE or recognized Cx certification

Responsibilities

This position will involve leading and managing commissioning projects and other commissioning engineers that are assigned to the projects. You will ensure that the commissioning process is effective and appropriate for the client’s goals and Owner’s Project Requirements. You will also be responsible for converting the client’s goals into appropriate components and system testing methodologies and solutions considering the environmental effects; project budget; health; safety and welfare of the public; and local systems.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Write and administer Commissioning Plans, and Systems Manuals consistent with Syska format.
  • Participate in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.
  • Assist senior commissioning engineer or project manager in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, staffing requirements, and project budgets.
  • Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports.
  • Provide project management and coordinate with accounting to prepare monthly project invoices.
  • Monitors project accounts receivables and contact the client as needed to expedite payment.
  • Address Risk Management issues on Projects.
  • Continuously build a strong Networking system with Syska and in the marketplace.
  • Cross-sell all Syska services throughout client organizations locally and geographically.
  • Establish commissioning standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
  • Generate new sales.
  • Lead QA/QC process on the projects.
  • Lead and supervise staff members as they perform their tasks.
  • Lead the technical delivery of projects.
  • Maintain interdisciplinary coordination with other trades/projects consultants.
  • Negotiate contracts.
  • Write Proposals
  • Supervises 2-3 employees.
