WHO WE ARE:

We are opening a brand-new distribution centre, located at highway 404 and Green Lane in East Gwillimbury Ontario. This is a state of the art 1.2 million square foot, automated and multi-temperature facility that will support Loblaw’s world class distribution network. We are seeking enthusiastic distribution operations candidates to join our team to support the launch and ongoing operation of this new facility.
Role: Senior Supervisor, Warehouse
Shift: Night, Tuesday - Saturday

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Ensure the efficient management of operations.
  • Address the team’s operational issues in an initiative-taking manner.
  • Implement standardized processes and tools.
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of the team and proactively deal with issues as they arise.
  • Ensure the shift targets are met or exceeded.
  • Review operation scorecard activity.
  • Manage the ongoing adjustment of the workflow and schedule for the team.
  • Conduct daily huddle.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development to team.
  • Provide individual performance management.
  • Review on floor activities and provide continual feedback.
  • Encourage a positive work culture that engages colleagues.
  • Work with shop stewards to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Ensure product is loaded on the truck in good condition in a way that meets customers’ needs.
  • Ensure pallets are not left off trailers and if needed, that the customer is notified.
  • Follow up with loaders on customers’ claims.
  • Update payroll file; manage indirect hours.
  • Identify hazards; ensure all national compliance (food safety, LAR, H&S, environmental).
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements, labour standards.
  • Arrange RTW programs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement among the team.
  • Champion and communicate continuous improvement ideas.
