Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position will take a lead role in the end-to-end supply chain planning encompassing daily activities through strategic business goals. This incorporates all material flows from Manufacturing to Customers, including production planning, inventory control, transportation planning and terminal operations. This position is responsible for the supply chain optimization tools as the tool super-user. In addition this position is the business owner of inventory planning and management along with the associated processes.
Finally, the position will provide project management for critical key supply chain initiatives utilizing planning systems.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Create and Maintain Integrated Supply Chain Event Management system and associated processes to identify and communicate current or pending items that effect the supply network.
  • Develop, document and maintain proactive plant system tactical planning to incorporate demand forecasting, manufacturing schedules, transportation modes and terminal operations into daily and weekly inventory forecast.
  • Develop and analyze Safety Stock and Inventory Management criteria.
  • Develop, analyze and maintain reporting mechanism for weekly supply impacts to distribution costs.
  • Utilize, update and expand supply chain planning tools to conduct strategic supply chain studies and initiatives.
  • Project Manager for key supply chain projects including - Network Visibility Tool, Demand Forecasting. Process Improvement, Forecast Accuracy Improvements, Cement and Mineral Components (MIC) network strategy, and cost reduction of expedited moves.
  • Supply Chain lead and liaison to Strategy Group and Sales Regions for financial and written business case development regarding strategic proposals, including terminal CapEx, Property, Plant and Equipment divestitures, imports and exports, sourcing changes, and new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, sales, finance, transportation and supply chain groups to develop lowest cost options for all proposals including purchases.
  • Various ad hoc operational and financial analysis and projects as needed.
