POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Senior Support Worker, you will provide high-quality disability support while mentoring and supervising a team of support workers. You will ensure that all supports align with NDIS Practice Standards and promote the independence, dignity, and well-being of participants. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering best-practice disability services.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in disability support or a similar role.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Community Services, Individual Support, or equivalent.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading a team is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of NDIS guidelines, human rights, and person-centred practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex situations with professionalism.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and incident reporting.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., for updating participant notes).
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check (WWCC) (if applicable).
  • Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred).

Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to participants, ensuring their needs, choices, and goals are met.
  • Support participants with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, community access, and skill development.
  • Promote independence by encouraging participants to make their own choices and engage in meaningful activities.
  • Administer or assist with medication management as per participant care plans and guidelines.
  • Monitor and report any changes in participant needs, health, or behaviour to the Service Manager.
