Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a strong passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children who have experienced trauma? We are seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our team in Guildford, working closely with children from traumatic backgrounds to provide them with the care, guidance, and support they need to thrive.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • At least 12 months experience within a relevant health and social care setting
  • A background in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and its application in a support setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with children.
  • Knowledge of local resources and agencies for children’s support.
  • First Aid and Safeguarding certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • Relevant NVQ Qualification, or willingness to work towards it.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Licence/Certification:

  • Level 3 in residential childcare or equivalent (required)
  • UK Driving license and Vehicle (required)

Responsibilities
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to children from traumatic backgrounds.
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with the team.
  • Assisting in the coordination of daily activities, therapeutic sessions, and educational support.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress of children, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Liaising with external agencies, families, and guardians to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Mentoring and training junior support staff to maintain high-quality service delivery.
  • Upholding safeguarding and child protection protocols at all times
