JOB DESCRIPTION

At Saracen Care, we are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Senior Support Workers. In this role, you will be enabling people with a learning disability or autism to “live their best life” – empowering people with their daily living skills and accessing the community, reaching their goals and realising their aspirations.
Rated Outstanding with CQC, Saracen Care is the provider of choice for people with general and complex needs. The people we support live with a range of conditions such as Learning Disability, Autism, Acquired Brain Injury and may exhibit behaviours that challenge.
We are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker who has the skills and ability to lead a team, provide training to new staff and assist our Team Leaders and Care Managers in delivering safe and effective care to the individuals we support.

Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional and practical support to the person you are supporting during their daily activities, including accessing the community.
  • Assist with domestic duties & household management, which may include assistance with cleaning, cooking, washing and managing finances.
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene.
  • Be able to motivate and encourage people through positive engagement and interaction.
  • Promote choice and independence, encouraging people we support to achieve their personal goals.
  • Keep accurate records, following company policies and CQC guidelines.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all individuals, adhering to safer recruitment guidelines.
  • Lead by example, within a team of support workers, ensuring that an excellent standard of care is upheld within the delivery of the service
  • Resolve day-to-day shift events in a positive and consistent way, communicating with the Care Management team as needed
  • Play a major role in the induction of new staff (you will be required to mentor new staff members throughout their induction and undertake competencies as required).
We hold a 10 day face to face induction which includes Positive Behaviour Support.
If you are passionate about supporting others and want to make a real difference in people’s lives, we would love to hear from you.
