SENIOR SUPPORT WORKER (TEAM LEADER)

Location: Ascot
Salary: £17.00ph
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
We are a Ofsted-registered Residential home (Single Placement) and are seeking experienced and passionate professionals to take on the vital role of Senior Support Worker (Team Leader).
This is a key position within our home, and an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role within a committed team supporting vulnerable young people aged 8 to 17 with highly complex learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural difficulties, often stemming from trauma, neglect, or exploitation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a motivated individual who has both the compassion to care and the confidence to lead. You should have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people in residential care and a proven ability to support both residents and staff effectively.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent QCF Level 4 or above)
  • Significant experience in a residential childcare setting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage shifts and lead a team
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, behavioural support strategies, and trauma-informed care
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, evenings, and weekends
  • A full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

As a Senior Support Worker (Team Leader). You will ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality care and support, contributing to a safe, stable, and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and development of each child.

You will:

  • Lead shifts and coordinate the team to deliver effective care
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor to staff and young people
  • Support staff performance, provide on-shift guidance, and assist with inductions and training
  • Oversee daily routines, risk assessments, and care plans
  • Build trusting relationships with children and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Record and report on the progress and challenges of each young person
  • Contribute to reviews, care planning, and multi-agency meetings
