ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will combine direct support for young people with leadership responsibilities that guide and inspire your team. This is a hands-on role where every day brings the chance to make a lasting difference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supporting Young People

  • Provide consistent, child-centred care tailored to individual needs
  • Promote routines, healthy relationships, and independent living skills
  • Support young people through daily life, transitions, and care plans
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that foster resilience and growth

Team Leadership

  • Lead shifts and guide team practice with confidence and clarity
  • Mentor junior staff, offering supervision, training, and development
  • Support with recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Promote a reflective, trauma-informed team culture

Collaboration and Compliance

  • Work in partnership with external professionals, families, and agencies
  • Attend care reviews, safeguarding meetings, and planning sessions
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all care regulations
  • Oversee key operational tasks including rotas, reporting, and health & safety
