Key Responsibilities: Sets up, adjusts, operates, inspects surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector to measure distances, elevations, angles, and other data in order to collect survey data. Participates and observes field and construction investigations. Processes data from manual or electronic field books. Performs basic field calculations on construction projects. Retraces or surveys boundary lines under supervision. Assists in researching existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents; and maintain field data record. Other duties as assigned Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills; the ability to identify alternative solutions, consequences of proposed actions, and to implement recommendations in support of established goals Ability to work as part of team and coordinate work with others Ability to communicate effectively; written and verbally Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as in high pressure situations with frequent interruptions Willingness and ability to physically work in all weather conditions Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree in a civil engineering or land surveying program is preferred. One or more years of relevant work experience related to surveying services is preferred. College course work in surveying or civil engineering field is preferred
Responsibilities
The Senior Survey Technician sets up and operates surveying equipment to collect data and participates in field investigations. They also process data and assist in researching existing records.
