Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic Senior Surveyor to join the New Settlements workstream of RVA, based in our London office.
The New Settlements team has a blend of public (Homes England, DIO, Local Authority etc) and private sector clients (Grainger, Commercial Estates Group, Private landowners, Developers and Land Promoters). The team supports clients in providing consultancy from a development and valuation perspective, providing advice on wide ranging matters such as land assembly for large housing projects, land disputes, land promotion, landowner agreements as well as acquisition and disposal advice whilst working closely with Montagu Evans housing and land planning team and Legal Advisors on Expert Witness instructions. The team is also looking to grow its presence in the land disposal market working alongside colleagues within Development Advisory and Land & Living on greenfield land opportunities, linked to its strategic land advisory off

The role involves:

  • Joining a young, ambitious team which focuses on providing high quality residential-led consultancy advice
  • Being challenged through a wide variety of interesting and complex work, finding solutions to clients’ problems
  • Gaining experience working with a huge range of clients, including leading property companies, public sector bodies, developers and landowners
  • A variety of work giving surveyors extensive scope to develop a broad range of experience and technical skills across the housing and land sectors
  • Building technical expertise before beginning to transition from a technical adviser to business winner. Surveyors are encouraged to engage in appropriate business development and liaise with clients with other teams and sectors including Planning, Housing, Land and wider Advisory department

Senior Surveyors will be encouraged to engage in appropriate Client Relationship Management and Business Development initiatives and be expected to liaise with clients directly.

MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Preparation and analysis of data in order to support a range of consultancy, valuation and agency advice
  • Preparing appraisals and valuations
  • Preparing high quality written advice for clients including some provision of Red Book valuation reports
  • Liaising with clients and wider project teams to discuss advice
  • Attend and lead client meetings and presentations
  • Providing support and training to graduates within the team
  • Collaborating with a range of teams across the firm and taking an active role in firm-wide sector groups
  • Raising your own and the team’s profile internally and externally with peers
  • Working with colleagues on business development activities including input into tender opportunities
  • Any additional duties as reasonably requested
