THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Surveying or other relevant formal higher education, such as a diploma in Engineering Surveying or recognised equivalent formal qualification.
  • Prior significant experience across a variety of projects and surveying disciplines with emphasis on experience in surveying in the civil construction industry.
  • For Senior Surveyor, prior experience managing teams of direct and subcontracted team’ members.
  • Sound computer skills with emphasis on Surveying packages.
  • Ability to create and maintain data systems, including for design changes, ‘as built’ records and calibration records.
Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Project Survey Manager, designers, engineers, other business unit managers, and clients on all survey-related matters and provide data as necessary.
  • Contribute to planning for surveying on sections of projects.
  • Prepare and supervise, or undertake surveys required to control the location and quality of engineering developments.
  • Contribute to designing, establishing and maintaining spatial control networks, maintaining core databases, and determining spatial relationships within land and geographic information systems.
  • Carry out site set-out on earthworks, highway/ rail, structural works and utilities contracts.
  • Gather and process field data for designers, engineers and Quality team members.
  • Prepare calculations for quantities and submit to the Project Manager/Engineers.
  • Liaise with both the Contractor’s and Client’s representatives.
  • Design, establish and maintain spatial control networks, maintaining core databases, determining spatial relationships with land and geographical information systems.
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of survey data and calculations for as built conformance reports, monthly progress reports, project quantity reports, and the like.
  • Prepare calculations for quantities and end-of-month claims for submission to the Project Manager / Engineers.
  • Manage and maintain a register of survey equipment and calibration records. Coordinate maintenance, testing, calibration and storing of survey equipment.
  • Liaise with other business unit managers to provide services or information as required, including survey audits or surveillance on subcontractors. (Senior Surveyors).
